Our kindergarten and parish belong together.
As a Protestant kindergarten, our connection with the parish is an important part of everyday life. The children encounter Christian traditions not only at kindergarten, but also experience the church as a place of community, music and celebration.
This connection becomes particularly visible on a variety of occasions:
- Harvest Thanksgiving
- St Martin’s Day
- The kindergarten children sing in the “Vorkurrende” children’s choir at senior gatherings and family church services.
- At the beginning of each school year, there is an organ concert for children and a special church service for children starting school.
- Once a year, the kindergarten helps to organize a family church service.
- Our cantor, Mr Grummet, sings and makes music with the children at the kindergarten.
- Children from our after-school care group take part in the children’s singing weeks led by Matthias Grummet and attend the summer church camp.
- Our parish educator, Ms Hille-Meyer, leads children’s sessions at the kindergarten.
